Still doing it all !!!
By the way, I think I gave everyone the impression that Handy1st has replaced my house painting and repair ! That probably won't happen for a good long while. We still do complete turnkey jobs, including complete exteriors...wash, prep, caulk weatherproof, paint and replace bad wood. This has always been our mainstay. Of all of the jobs we have done, from custom decks to custom kitchens, painting and repair has always been and will remain our primary job.

A GOOD DAY INDEED !
It was another beautiful day in The Woodlands today. The weather is like Spring. I hope it stays for a while.
It was also a very " busy " day, and it's just the beginning. The weekend is full and next week, my time is already spread out between 3 different jobs, all of which need to be completed ASAP. That's alright though. The more work that I can get done now, the sooner I can expect to get "Handy 1st" up and running.
I've never really spent any time looking toward the future, but the time has come, and this is my goal. There is still a lot of hard work ahead, but once I get this set up, the future will look much brighter.... See Ya...

Better Late Than Never
I guess I've done just about everything in the line of Home Improvement at one time or another. Some I enjoy. Some not so much. The one constant that goes with almost every aspect of my work, is the challenge. I just never know what I am going to run into, when I start tearing out a wall or a soffit, even something as simple as facia or trim. It may be a quick, simple fix, or I may be opening a Pandora's box.
I've run across everything from a little rotten wood, behind a facia board, to empty spaces where there should be studs or bracing. Sometimes I wonder what has held these pieces of material in place from the beginning. It is often quite clear that the original installers left out vital parts of the framework that it should have attatched to.
Ah, the stories I could tell. But quite honestly, I'm tired. I'm getting a little old for climbing ladders and carrying material every day.
Besides, I have grandchildren who I love dearly, and would truly enjoy spending more time with. My latest venture into the business world is designed with all of these things in mind. HANDY 1ST, while continuing the work I have done for24 plus years, will focus more on smaller, handyman type jobs. It will also eventually, take me out of the field and into the office.
That said, I'm going to sign out for tonight. I will post new developements as they occur. Maybe we'll watch this thing grow together. See Ya...
